Central Milton Keynes was joyfully lit on Saturday 3rd October.
Christ the Cornerstone church hosted our 8th annual lantern parade, and families from all over MK came out to celebrate light and community.
The event opened with Pif-Paf Theatre outdoor show Moths at Work, where illuminated characters Moth and Moth mingled with audiences and shared their very own joy and light, as well as a giant illuminated Moon.

Limbic Cinema brought their stunning new piece Lunar Phase, created especially for City of Codes & Light and projected onto the iconic Christ the Cornerstone dome with its soundtrack celebrating the diverse communities that call Milton Keynes home.

Thousand of people joined the light parade, with giant illuminated puppets and lanterns, created by artist Emma Garufulo with local school and community groups. The parade was led by Dhol drummers beating their way to Fred Roche Gardens.

Visitors to the gardens entered through a magical tunnel of light and were entertained with live music, including MKIAC festival favourite Sefo Kanute and Britain's Got Talent finalists Northants Sings Out.
